I ran accross an excellent slide show from on Inc.com called 10 Things Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know.
My favorite is #1: âNumbers run a business. If you donât know how ro read them, you are flying blind.â
This is so true for many small busniness owners. It is amazing to me at how few small business owners actually review their numbers often enough so that they may use them to make postive impact on their business.
I do not particularly agree with #6, âYou have no friends in business, only associates.â Especially after reading the additional dialogue they put at the bottom. Any one who has ever read any of Jeffrey Gitomerâs books or one of his audio seminars knows this can not be further from the truth. Successful business is built on relationships and the cornerstone of any relationship is friendship. If you donât make friends with your customers, do not expect them to hang around for the long term.
Donna Bordeaux, CPA with Calculated Moves
Creativity and CPAs donât generally go together. Â Most people think of CPAs as nerdy accountants who canât talk with people. Â Well, itâs time to break that stereotype. Â Lively, friendly and knowledgeable can be a part of your relationship with your CPA as demonstrated by Donna and Chad Bordeaux. Â They have over 50 years of combined experience as entrepreneurial CPAs. Â Theyâve owned businesses and helped business owners exceed their wildest dreams. Â They have been able to help businesses earn many times more profit than the average business in the same industry and are passionate about helping industries that help families build great memories.
