Looking for a Local CPA

I talked to many people who are focused on that they need a local CPA where they can drop into their office and drop off paperwork. Let’s talk about that situation for a moment. Is there really a need for your accountant to be local to you?

Well, as we all know throughout, remote working, some of us do it better than others, but remote work is not anything new to us. We’ve been working remotely with our clients long before the COVID pandemic. Probably been about eight years now. Before remote working was even cool or recognized, having a local provider put you in a very limited band of people who could assist you.

If you had a heart condition, would you narrow your focus to only going to doctors who were within 10 miles of your home? I doubt many of us would put that tide of a focus on it. Many people, when they have health issues or medical issues, will travel miles and even sometimes across the country and across borders to get the best care. Well, I’d like to make sure that you are getting the best care for your financial advice and for your financial health of your business. And that may mean reaching out to someone who isn’t around the corner from you.

I know it may be uncomfortable to think about not being able to pop into an office, but I got news for you. Most of your accountants who are around the corner from you don’t do pop in visits anymore, either. Chances are, many of their staff work remotely as well. Even if that’s still around the quarter from you, you’re not going to have the same type of meetings, and things like you used to where you would pop into an office.

And honestly, for most of us, that is something we need to get over. We need to make sure that we are able to make connections with people virtually now and not just rely on the power of a handshake. It’s still great when we get to see people in person, but you shouldn’t limit your focus to knocking out quality people in your business life just because they’re not around the corner from you. You could be missing out quite a bit.

So the myth of that your accountant has to be local may be limiting you. Reach out to providers and find the best provider for you no matter where they are, as long as they’re able to work with you and provide you with the value that you need. Consider anybody anywhere. There’s no reason not to these days. We have a lot of extra powers that we didn’t use to have with the internet and technology, and those can actually make for a more beneficial relationship. Don’t spend your time in traffic going to visit somebody or get there and realize you don’t have your computer. You can’t retrieve a file that you need to answer a question.

Through the benefits of remote work and virtual technology, this can streamline and increase the performance of your accountant in your business. We’d be happy to talk to you about how we work and show you the way that you can get the bigger bang for your buck.

Creativity and CPAs don’t generally go together.  Most people think of CPAs as nerdy accountants who can’t talk with people.  Well, it’s time to break that stereotype.  Lively, friendly, and knowledgeable can be a part of your relationship with your CPA, as demonstrated by Donna and Chad Bordeaux. They have over 50 years of combined experience as entrepreneurial CPAs.  They’ve owned businesses and helped business owners exceed their wildest dreams.   They have been able to help businesses earn many times more profit than the average business in the same industry and are passionate about helping industries that help families build great memories.
