Should You Get a Refund From the IRS?

March 2, 2022

I don’t know if you remember but back in 2020, I told you don’t depend on getting a refund from the IRS. Because it may take a long time and unfortunately my prediction has come true.

We’re now seeing the backlog of IRS returns where it is taking people at least a year in some cases to get refunds. And even then it may be a challenge and a struggle based on losing information and not getting things processed timely, dealing with notices in between.

So please, please, do not plan to overpay your taxes. As much as I can tell you over and over, your money should stay in your hand as long as possible. I’m not suggesting that you not pay the IRS. I’m suggesting that you pay what you owe when it is due and not before then. Don’t give an interest-free loan on your money to the IRS because you may not get it back.

Donna Bordeaux, CPA with Calculated Moves

Creativity and CPAs don’t generally go together.  Most people think of CPAs as nerdy accountants who can’t talk with people.  Well, it’s time to break that stereotype.  Lively, friendly, and knowledgeable can be a part of your relationship with your CPA as demonstrated by Donna and Chad Bordeaux. They have over 50 years of combined experience as entrepreneurial CPAs.  They’ve owned businesses and helped business owners exceed their wildest dreams.   They have been able to help businesses earn many times more profit than the average business in the same industry and are passionate about helping industries that help families build great memories.
