The Entrepreneur’s Top 10 Must Haves for your RV Office

We love to hit the road and see the great USA from our RV.   We have worked hard to structure our business so that we can operate it from anywhere, anytime.  Here is a list of our top 10 must have items to be sure you can be productive from the road.   Get ready to head out on an adventure of your own with this handy list.

  1. Laptop: Apple’s Macbook lineup has just what you need to easily connect to printers and wifi spots.  It’s our must have favorite.
  2. Mobile Internet Hotspot: I use my phone with Verizon service for solid connections where you have decent cell service.  There’s a lot to know here, so check out our friends at rvmobileinternet.com.  They have all of the answers.
  3. Spare Phone Cord: keep a spare phone cord in your camper instead of trusting the memory to bring one with you.  It’s cheap protection and you know you won’t be left with a dead phone and no internet.
  4. Printer:  choose a small printer that can be stowed away.  I like the Canon PIXMA iP110 printer since it has a small footprint.  I keep mine in the bottom of my closet.  I don’t use it much, but when I need it, it is a lifesaver.  Consider getting printer with Airprint capability to allow you to print from your iPhone or iPad too.
  5. Ink Jet Cartridges: If you have an ink jet printer and don’t use it often, your cartridges will probably dry out.  Keep a spare on board just in case.
  6. Scanner:  Check out the Epson Workforce DS-40.  If you don’t need to scan much, you can just use a scan app on your phone.  I recommend snapping a picture through Evernote and letting it convert it to a clear OCR document.
  7. Ream of Paper
  8. Phone battery chargers:  I have the Anker PowerCor+ and like that I can just plug it in and put it in my pocket.
  9. USB Thumb Drive just in case you need to transfer files to a printer or other contact
  10. Plastic File Supplies Box:  get a plastic file box from your local office store and keep the desk essentials in it:
    • Tape
    • Scissors
    • Post its
    • Highlighters
    • Paper Clips
    • Notebook
    • Pens and pencils
    • Staple remover
    • Mini Stapler

Let us know if there is anything else you think we should add to the list.  Safe Travels!
